First of all I decided that I wanted these leopard print ones from Kurt Geiger.
Kurt Geiger Laurel £99
Annoyingly they had sold out in my size (and in Harrods, Selfridges etc), and they still have, despite me checking online every day!
As I already had leopard print ones in my head, I set out to find an alternative.
I loved this pair by Bertie, but they had sold out at Selfridges, John Lewis, Dune etc
I then ordered this animal print pair from Clarks. I had high hopes and the price (£39) was much better, but on arrival I didn't like the shiny trim around the edge and they made my feet look huge!
High Vamp Skaters £20
Unfortunately the same thing happened with these Tartan Skate Shoes, also £20 from Topshop. I did try to size up but my feet looked mahoosive!
I also really really loved the print on this version from Whistles, but didn't want to spend that sort of money on a style that I'm unsure about..
Whistles Lena Slip On Trainer £135
These floral ones caught my eye by Peter Pilotto for Target from net-a-porter.com, but they had completely sold out.
Then I completely fell in love with these gorgeous gold perforated ones from Hush and knew that my search was over. I couldn't believe it when they had also sold out. (They will be back in stock in 5-6 weeks, so I may still be tempted.)
I had pretty much given up at this point, but spied this leopard print pair from Office on a recent shopping trip in London.
They were only £20 and they are so comfortable, I'm really pleased with them - they look good with everything from distressed boyfriend jeans to maxi dresses.
So have you embraced the skater shoe trend? As always I would love to hear your thoughts...
Finishing with a pic of me wearing the fabulous Office leopard ones with True Religion boyfriend jeans, Gap shirt from last spring and sweatshirt by American Vintage at yard last autumn.

The Office skaters look great on you Abbi....love the colourway! So glad I bagged the KG Laurel's early on.....they were sold out online and most other places when I got them, I just struck lucky finding them in a store! They are so useful, you will get so much wear out of them x
ReplyDeleteI think I would have loved the laurels, they look great on you x
DeleteHi Abi, I have a pair go H&M snake effect skaters, love them so comfy and look great, skaters seem to work with everything.

I have heard from someone else that the H&M ones are really comfy - will check them out as would quite like a black pair!

Great outfit - love the checked shirt under the grey jumper
ReplyDeleteThank you! I completely get why you don't like skaters, I'm still unsure but am such a sheep! They are comfortable though, can see me getting lots of wear out of them!

I love mine!! These are great too. I found exactly the same thing when I tried on the Topshop ones, so annoying, they made my feet look huge. H xx
ReplyDeleteI love yours too!

The KG would be my top choice too but the price has always put me off. The Office ones are a great alternative and such a good price. Luckily one of my daughters has the same size feet as me and the Peter Pilotto ones in the black and white colourway so think I will just borrow those for now! x
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to be able to borrow them - the perfect way to decide if you like them enough to get your own!

ReplyDeleteThank you, am still u sure about them, but they are growing on me!

Love them! I've got the M&S leopard print ones & I want to wear them every single day! I don't know how I lived without them tbh! xx
ReplyDeleteI really like the M&S ones, I will check them out to see if they do a black pair
