Transitional Purchase: Duster Coat

Yes, I'm finally thinking about autumn/winter and making a wish list, which I will be sharing with you in the coming days. I'm not packing away any summer clothes just yet though, and will switch back to my summer wardrobe at the slightest opportunity - but the rain and generally gloomy weather since getting back from my holiday has forced me into a back to school type of feeling.

On Bank Holiday Monday I wore my first new purchase of the season, this beautiful jersey coat from Topshop:

I actually bought it in July, when the new collection started coming in, as I knew it would be the perfect transitional coat for early autumn, and I loved the quirky grid pattern. It's very lightweight and loose, and is the perfect coat to layer over T-shirts, jersey tops and fine knits. It could be worn with heels to work for a smarter look, but I prefer it with jeans and trainers/pumps for a more dressed down feel:

Check Print Jersey Coat £75

White Tee (Zara SS14)
Boyfriend Jeans (True Religion SS14)
New Balance trainers

I actually want to wear it with white trainers, but that's a blog for another day!

And here are some other duster coats that I like (the ones from Topshop are my favourite):

This one is similar to mine, but in a different check:

Check Print Longline Duster Coat £85

And I adore the colour of this lilac one:

Longline Duster Coat £79

And it is stunning in the orange version:

And I saw this great black and white check duster coat in New Look today for only £29.99

Black Check Duster Coat £29.99

Will you be buying a new coat this season? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Golly you're organised Abbi. It's a dressy uppy, dressy downy coat isn't it. I bet you'll get loads of wear out of it. Love it with the trainers x

    1. Organised with clothes but nothing else! It's very thin so I'll have to wear it lots over the next month or two!
