Dressing Up with Allium B
You may remember that I featured a beautiful Allium B sundress on the blog at the beginning of the summer, so I was thrilled to be invited by Clare and Mary, the sister team behind the brand, to choose a dress from their stunning autumn/winter collection.
It was such a treat to choose something so sophisticated and although the dresses are all very grown up, they have a modern feel to them and can be worn easily from day to night. My favourite is the Olivia dress - I just adore it's simplicity, offset by the exquisite oriental embroidery on the sleeves:
The soft crepe material feels very luxurious and I decided that this dress needs minimal jewellery and accessorises to let the sleeves stand out:
It feels glamorous enough for a special occasion, and I have several of these coming up over the next couple of months, one of which will be perfect for this dress, so it will be featuring on the blog again in a few weeks!
I will also be dressing it down with thick tights and ankle boots or pointy flats to make it easier to wear during the day.
A close up of the beautiful embroidery on the sleeves, inspired by a clutch bag that Clare found at Chelsea Antiques Fair:
If you're looking for a dress for something special this season (and that you will be able to wear again and again after the event), there are several others that caught my eye.
First up, the Helena dress, which also features some stunning lace embroidery. This is the one that would work the best for dressing up/down for either daytime or evening:
I love the winter floral pattern on the Flora dress below - I would wear this with black tights, ankle boots and a little black cardi over the top to dress it down.
I also love the stunning colour of the Emily dress below, which would look equally good with heels or flats, and could work for any occasion:
